My area of expertise is the Risk and Safety assessment of innovative materials and processes. My work focuses on evaluating and addressing risks that may arise from the development of new solutions.

What inspired you to pursue a career in this related field, e.g., composite materials recycling?:
My goal is to provide the tools so that researchers can be safe while developing key alternative solutions in the search for more efficient and sustainable technologies.

What is your role in the EURECOMP project?:
In EURECOMP, I am the project manager on behalf of IRES, leading Work Package 6 on Safety, Environment, and Performance.

Can you describe your main responsibilities and tasks?
I am responsible for the risk assessment of the materials and processes developed within the project. I also organise the efforts on the combined safety-sustainability-performance evaluation.

How does your work contribute to the overall goals of the EURECOMP project?:
Our work provides a thorough understanding of the distinct benefits offered by each of the different technologies applied in the framework of EURECOMP.
We have been able to evaluate the safety, environmental impact, and cost of recycling through different solvolysis technologies and highlight the advantages of each approach.

What do you find most exciting about working on the EURECOMP project?:
The most interesting part of working on EURECOMP is the opportunity to witness the development of unique and innovative ways of handling end-of-life parts.

What has been the most challenging aspect of your work on this project?
In our effort to establish a framework that evaluates the manufacturing of products from end-of-life materials, the main challenge has been incorporating the multiple pillars of Safety-Environment-Performance.
